From 2011 to 2012, I worked in the newsroom of Grupo Folha as an assistant editor for the Entertainment channel on the UOL news portal. In this role, I not only produced content related to music, cinema, and the arts but also led a team of writers in the daily production of content on these topics.
One of the special coverages I was part of was the Metal Open Air festival in São Luís, Maranhão. Initially, UOL was the only national outlet to cover the event, which became infamous for being canceled mid-event due to a lack of infrastructure and missing bands that were promised in the lineup. The fiasco led to a public prosecutor's investigation and class-action lawsuits from attendees who had spent hundreds of reais on tickets and accommodations, coming from across Brazil.
I was on-site at the event, sending reports back to the São Paulo newsroom until the festival's eventual cancellation.
